Quality in Local Government 2006
On April 6th 2006, the European Centre of Management organised a meeting for representatives of local government aimed at quality management in institutions of local government in the SR entitled “Quality in Local Government 2006”.
Our company was one of the event’s main partners.
The aim of the first edition of the seminar was to identify current trends in managing and improving quality in local government and the use of benchmarking in processes of the assessment of the work, activities, quality and costs of individual institutions. Another of the seminar’s important aims was to initiate for the first time in Slovakia a project of long-term benchmarking of the work, activities, quality and costs of institutions of local government with the participation of relevant specialist subjects and partners.
Specialists from Slovakia and the Czech Republic took part in this event.

- A modern town – project for increasing the quality of services in Trenčín - Branislav Celler
- Systems of management of information security - Vratislav Palička
All the mayors and regional local government presidents of the Slovak Republic were invited, as well as the highest representatives of territorial and municipal government.
The event took place under the auspices of the mandatory of the government of the Slovak republic for the decentralisation of local government, Viktor Nižňanský, in cooperation with the Union of Towns of Slovakia (ÚMS) and the Association of Towns and Villages of Slovakia (ZMOS). Further partners of the seminar were the Association of Municipal Economists of the SR, Dexia banka, a.s., Municipalia, a.s., SAP Slovensko, spol. s r.o., as well as other important organisations.
The event was a success; it was presented by Braňo Ondruš from JOJ television, and the Aurelius Quintet Trenčín jazz group performed at the evening party, playing swing and Latin American numbers. A raffle was also part of the evening’s programme.
