Social Impact Vouchers – Slovakia

We always prefer to learn from the best in the industry. An example is the project – Social Impact Vouchers – the output of which in Slovakia is the portal Práca v kocke.

About project

The project builds on the long-term activity of the German project partners Diakonisches Werk der evangelischen Kirche in Württemberg e.V. a Sozialunternehmen Neue Arbeit gGmbH. These partners have long been dedicated to helping people from disadvantaged groups in the labour market. Job seekers have the opportunity to obtain a voucher that will guarantee them a job with cooperating employers (for example, churches, non-profit organizations, social enterprises, companies, etc.). In the German model, employers also reimburse the costs of employing people involved in the program.

The aim of the Social Impact Vouchers project is to pilot test the establishment and operation of a fund that will finance a voucher program and employment of people from disadvantaged groups in eight Central European countries. At the same time, each country chooses its own target group and the fund’s system of operation.

In Slovakia, the target group is mainly secondary vocational school graduates. It is expected that in the future the voucher program’s target group in Slovakia will be expanded. The work portal connects those interested in working with employers. As a bonus, it offers a whole range of attractive individual and group trainings that will increase the employability of job seekers. All trainings and consultations are provided free of charge thanks to the project.
